HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY (Bay News 9) — The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a 17-year-old boy in Ruskin.
According to reports, an unknown vehicle struck Jessie Driggers Saturday night as he was crossing northbound U.S. Highway 41 near 19th Avenue NW.
Troopers say the impact knocked him across the road, and the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
Driggers lived in Ruskin, according to FHP officials, just a few miles away from where he was hit.
Investigators say they are looking for the vehicle and the driver involved in the accident. Information about the vehicle involved is limited.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FHP.
